The Herb
Dragon's Blood conjures up many bloody, gory pictures in my mind, just thinking about it. I can see the red blood seeping out. With the horrible picture that comes to mind, the resin coming from these plant represents that. This herb has been used throughout the ages as varnish, medicine, incense and dye.
This red resin is still used as a varnish on violins, but some other woodworking will yield the bright red of Dragons Blood. Of course, you can get incense in sticks, cones, powder or resin form. There are many wonderful oils made with the resin to be used on the body or in an oil warmer.
Down through the ages this wonderful scent has been used to give a feeling of protection to enhance meditation, to give a feeling of empowerment, and to just help with relaxing. It is very hard to believe that this wonderful sweet little woody smell comes from this beautiful resin.
Let's do a quick little meditation. Imagine yourself drifting on a cloud, relaxed, the scent of Dragon's Blood wafting around you. Let whatever comes to mind be with you or if there is a particular problem that needs to be addressed, play with your thoughts, and who knows, you may come up with a way to save the world... Enjoy!
